In the vast ocean of commercial star-driven cinema, there always has been the presence of the defined cinema. The cinema rooted in the very soil where the story takes place. This has been the cinema bearing personal imprint of the filmmaker. Today, this cinema is in a state of despair in the face of the oppressive onslaught of formulaic films and television series. Though there have been attempts now-and-then of making independent films by passionate filmmakers, they have been too far and between. Primarily, because of not having any receptive theatres or digital platforms to show them. Consequently, many such outstanding films or tv series have been forced in to the oblivion.

SAAJHA CINEMA attempts to source, curate, and show such films that have been primarily created by the indie-filmmakers within India and without.
